J.C. Allen, 73, a prominent resident of Poole, died at his home there Wednesday afternoon. Death was caused from complications. Mr. Allen, who was a retired farmer, had lived in Poole all his life. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Fred M. Tapp of Dixon, Mrs. R.H. McMullin of San Francisco, California and Mrs. T.B. Jewell of Corydon; one son, C.D. Allen, of Poole; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Crowley, Poole, and one brother, H.G. Allen, Poole. Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the General Baptist church in Poole with the Rev. E.Y. Laslie of Owensville, Indiana in charge of the service. Pallbearers were to be Hugh Melton, Edmond Allen, Granville, Nolan, V.H. Allen, Hobart Allen and Hurley Crowley. Interment was to be in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Poole.
