Arthur "Art" Fischnar, 68 of Porter, died Friday, April 7, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer. A member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, he was retired from AT&T Tech, formerly Western Electric. "After his retirement, he spent time pursuing his love of nature by hunting and fishing".
Mr. Fischnar was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Frieda; brother, Eugene, sister, Faye and brother-cousin, Roy Pohler.
He is survived by his wife Catherine; daughters Kathleen Hardage and Madelyn Fischnar; one grandson, John Hardage and a brother, John Fischnar, and a brother-cousin, Pete Pohler.
The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Rosewood Funeral Home where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosewood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday April 10, 1995, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church 527 South Houston Ave., with Rev. Paul Procella, celebrant. Rite of Committal to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
