Mary Alice "Poodle" Strickland, 70, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 26, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 19, 1939 and graduated from Andrew Jackson in 1957. She retired after 30 plus years from Prudential Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Elvin Coursey, and brother, Dallas Elvin Coursey, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James "JC" Strickland; daughters, Charlene Roberts (Ronnie), Sandy Seymour (Terry), and Sue Mullis (Jimmy); grandchildren, Dusty Denmark (Lindsey), Ronnie Roberts, Jr. (Talley), Ashley Bolen (Jonathan), Jeremy Roberts, Amanda, Jordan, and Jared Mullis, Mackenzie Seymour; future great-grandson, Holden Denmark; Mother, Elizabeth Coursey; sisters, Patricia Bowles and Betty Ann Gordon (Keith); brother-in-law, Bobby Strickland (Ruth); sister-in-law, Janice Coursey, and many nieces and nephews, and friends.
