Anna Katharine Thompson, 87, of Burlington, died at Great River Klein Center in Burlington, Iowa, on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 2:48 p.m.
Born on January 14, 1923, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of George D. and Margaret K. Maass Hammje. She married Lynn Tommy Howard Thompson on November 27, 1947 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on May 23, 1986.
Anna was a homemaker. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1940. She enjoyed attending church services at Bethany Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member.
She is survived by one niece, Sharyn C. (Mike) Miller of West Burlington, Iowa; one nephew, George L. (Michelle) Hammje of Burlington, Iowa; special friend, Francine Benhart of Detroit, Michigan; great-nieces, great-nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, George Hammje.
Funeral services for Anna Katharine Thompson will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Prugh�s Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Rev. Carl Engstrom will officiate. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call on Tuesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church, Burlington, Iowa and Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa.
