grees(?) Attended the Funeral
Service in a Body
Mrs. Emma J. SMITH, the wife of Mr. Walker R. SMITH, died at their residence No. 832 Second avenue, Phenix City, at 11 o'clock Tuesday night after a protracted illness of Bright's disease. She was 45 years of age, and a well known and well beloved lady. Besides her husband, she is survived by three brothers, Mr. J.T. COLE, of Girard, Mr. Wiley COLE, of Columbus and Mr. Walter COLE of Atlanta. Two sisters, Miss Matilda COLE, of Columbus, and Mrs. Mollie TILLERY, of Phenix City, also survive her.
The deceased was a member of Trinity Methodist church.
The funeral took place from the late residence yesterday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by Rev J.M. VANDIVER, and the interment being in Linwood cemetery in Columbus.
The following ladies, members of Eunola Council, No. 17, Degree of Pocahontas, acted as pallbearers at the funeral: Misses Dosia HARRISON, May HUDSON, Ethel RUSSELL, Aarah FIELD?, Lorine FOSTER and Bessie HILL. The members of Eunola COUNCIL turned out in a body, and it was with ___ beautiful and impressive service on the order that the mortal remains of Mrs. SMITH were laid to rest in her ___ in Linwood.
