James Bright Youmans, 78, died Saturday at his home.
Funeral services were at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Zahler Cemetery.
Mr. Youmans was born May 12, 1889, a son of Benjamin and Jennie Davis Youmans. He was manager of O'Brice Plantation for 20 years and was employed by the town of Yemassee for a number of years.
Surviving are; his widow, Mrs. Ola Lee Zahler Youmans; three daughters, Mrs. Rita Y. Benton and Mrs. Rudine Y. Fitts, both of Yemassee, and Mrs. Claudie Y. Gray of Burton; three sons, Police Chief Bratton Youmans and Deputy Sheriff Earl Youmans, both of Yemassee and Lawrence Youmans of Walterboro; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Heape of Yemassee; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
