JACOB "TED" ANDERSON
July 8, 1930 ~ June 14, 2010

Ted Anderson died peacefully at home in Vancouver, WA, only three weeks before his 80th birthday. He was born in Wisner, NE and moved to Portland, OR in the 1940's.
From 1950-54 he served in the Air Force. He and his family moved to Vancouver in 1964. Ted was a dedicated driver for Airco Industrial Gases for 33 years where he received a 3 million mile award for safe driving.
For the past 18 years his desire to constantly serve others was fulfilled by his volunteer work at St. Vincent de Paul Society. He has been an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church since 1962.
Ted enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and his grandchildren. He was a wonderful father and dedicated family man. His generosity and loyalty will forever be remembered.
Ted is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 56 years; six children, Lynn (Tony) Shedrick, Paul (Debbie) Anderson, Jim (Karla) Anderson, Laury Walker, Ellen (Bob) Doyle, and John Anderson; sisters, Yvonne Lester and Bea Hartung; ten grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren who all called him "Papa".
Ted was preceded in death by his sisters, Dee Gilles and Roma Heinemann.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated, Fri., July 2, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Vancouver, WA. Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
Donations can be made in Ted's honor to St. Vincent de Paul Society at 2456 Stapleton Road, Vancouver, WA 98661. These funds will go toward the purchase of a new delivery truck greatly needed by an organization that was dear to his heart.
