Two Operations Fail to Save Life of Former Tannery Employee

Walter L. Fleming, for several years an employee the Hough Tannery, dies at 1:40 o'clock yesterday morning at his home near Amberly of tumors of the brain. He had twice been to the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for operations, but was not materially benefited.
Mr. Fleming was born near Deer Run W. Va. thirty three years ago and came to Virginia fourteen years ago. He married Miss Bessie Kanney, daughter of J. W. Kanney, September 23, 1906. He as a member of the United Brethren Church, a highly respected citizen, and the family have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
Surviving are his wife and children, Mamie Olive, Oila Frances, Alma Louisa, Vada Florence and Hallie Anna Belle Fleming. He also is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Fleming of Fort Seybert, W. Va. and the following brothers and sisters. Mrs. Birdie Lough, of Deer Run, W. Va.; William Fleming, of Franklin, W, Va.; Richard Fleming, of Canada; Mrs. Lea Dora Bowers. of Fort Seybert, W. Va.; Mrs. Bessie Bowers, of Gladys, W. Va.; Mrs. Nannie Fleming, of Fort Seybert, W. Va.; Mrs. Ina Fleming, of Akron, Ohio; Pearl Fleming, of Gridley, Ill.; Mrs. Myrtle Rimel, of near Forestville; and Mrs. Zola Mitchell, of Fort Seybert, w. Va.
Funeral services will be held at the Mount Zion Church of the Brethren, Rev. A. W. Andes, W. D. Mitchell and Rev J. B. Miller, officiating.
