Elmer Frank Ehrsam
Sabetha-Elmer Frank Ehrsam, 84, Sabetha, died late Monday, Aug. 27, at a Sabetha nursing home where he lived since 1980.
Mr. Ehrsam lived and armed many years in the Bern and Berwick communities in Nemaha County. He also painted houses, barns, and other buildings.
He was born March 9, 1900, at Bern, the son of William and Eliza Leuenberger Ehrsam. He attended the rural Sunrise/Ehrsam School.
Mr. Ehrsam was a member of the United Methodist Church at Bern and Modern Woodmen of America.
He was married to Esther Hunzeker Dec. 24, 1924. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. LaVerne Rokey, Sabetha; a son, Willis Ehrsam, Seneca; a sister, Mrs. Sue Strahm, Sabetha; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Bern. Burial will be in Bern Cemetery.
Mr. Ehrsam will lie in state after 9 a.m. today at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church at Bern.
