Earl was born in Emden, Illinois, on November 11, 1917, to Earnest and Mamie Classen.
He was a WWII Veteran having served his country with the Army Air Corps. He moved to Arizona in the 1950's. At that time, he was working for the Civil Service from which he retired. He moved to Alaska for awhile where he enjoyed fishing for salmon. Upon returniing to Arizona, he moved to Litchfield Park where he enjoyed his retirement job at the Wigwam Golf shop.
