Casualty of WWII, William was a Leading Aircraftman in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 2911 Sqdn. R.A.F. Regt. Service No: 1429660. He was the son of William J. Skeet and Annie Skeet; husband of Alice Skeet, of Hayle, Cornwall.

He was 40 years old and was killed whilst cycling near the Dick Turpin Hotel in Aldborough Road North just as it was struck by a V2 Rocket. The Hotel Proprietor, Phil Perkins was also killed in this incident and he was laid to rest in the nearby St Peter's Churchyard.
