Cordova - Mrs. Janice Marie Jensen, 60, of 1610 Cannon Bridge Road, Cordova, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Billy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Norway. Active pallbearers will be Trae Morris, Dallas Scott, Frank Estes IV, Tommy Fogle, Mike Summers and Barry Aultman. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Kirby Jr. and Tim Felder. Mrs. Jensen was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Bamberg County. She was the daughter of the late Thurmond Dwight Spires and the late Ruby Lee Carrigg Spires Davis. Survivors include her husband, Roy "Danny" Jensen of Cordova; one daughter, Lynda Morris of Acworth, Ga.; five sons, Michael "Mike" Thurmond Kittrell of Statesboro, Ga., Thomas L. Kittrell (Marine Corps) of New Bern, N.C., Tony L. Kittrell and David Jensen, both of Cordova, Brian Jensen (U.S. Army) of Ft. Myer, Va.; two sisters, Carolyn Spires Black of Orangeburg and Deborah Davis of Providence Forge, Va.; three brothers, Dwight Spires and Kenneth Spires Sr., both of Branchville, and Ronnie Spires of Bamberg; and eight grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. James (Carolyn) Black, 433 Cimmaron St., Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
