Eva, a gifted artist graduated from Judson College and continued her studies in New York under Robert Henri and William Merritt Chase at the New York School of Art.
On December 1st 1909, Eva married her childhood sweetheart, David Gaston Wilkinson, a son of Asbury and Elizabeth [Gaston] Wilkinson at the Lyle Plantation. This union was blessed with three daughters:
Lucy Elizabeth (1911-2008)
May Murphy (1912-2009)
Eva Gaston (1917-1965)
Eva and David Wilkinson lived in Momtgomery; where David worked with the Alabama State Department of Engineers. Eva continued painting and several of her paintings are part of The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts collection, as shown here, The Big Tree.
Eva Lyle Wilkinson departed this life on May 7th 1959 in the 80th year of her age. She was laid to rest in Gastonburg Cemetery near her parents and husband, who preceded her.
