THREE DIE WHEN FAST TRAIN HITS AUTOMOBILE
Ray Deeter, Wayne County Banker, And Soloman Isaac Killed Instantly In Sunday Accident At Greens Fork.
FAILED TO HEAR ELECTRIC GONG SIGNALLING TRAIN'S APPROACH - FOURTH MEMBER OF THE PARTY SAVES SELF BY JUMPING.
----------
THE DEAD
Ray Deeter, 31, cashier of the Greens Fork Bank.
Soloman Isaac, 26, laborer.
Cash Rose, 17.

GREENS FORK Ind., April 14 - Raymond A. Deeter and Soloman Isaac were killed instantly, and Cash Rose, a 17 year-old boy, was fatally injured here Sunday, when an automobile in which they were riding was struck by a Pennsylvania passenger train at the crossing east of the Greens Fork station. Rose died four hours after being taken to a hospital in New Castle.
Isaac was 25 and recently had come to Wayne county from Kentucky. He was a farm laborer. Both men were married and Isaac leaves three children. The Rose boy made his home with the Isaac family.

Deeter and Isaac had started for a farm north of town and were seated in a roadster, while Rose stood on the running board on one side of the car, and Charles Freeman, a boy of 16, stood on the other side running board.

Despite the fact that the electric warning bell was ringing, apparently it was not heard and view of the track was cut off by a string of freight cars on a side track.

Deeter drove out on the tracks as the train rounded the curve and the automobile was hurled thirty yards or more. Young Freeman jumped and escaped injury, but the others were hurled from the car.

Deeter and Isaac were killed instantly, but Rose was still alive, though unconscious, when rescuers reached him. Rose and Isaac were both known here, having become acquainted upon their arrival from Kentucky.

The funeral of Mr. Isaac will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Services will be in the Greens Fork Christian church. Rev. Charles E. Shultz of this city will be in charge of services.
