Irene Alberthal was born on 19 December 1927 in the Cherry Mountain Community, west of Fredericksburg, Texas to Alvin and Emilie Thiele Alberthal. She Died 23 June 2010 at 23:28.

She attended Cherry Mountain School until the 4th grade when they moved to Fredericksburg, where she completed her education, graduating with the class of 1945.

She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg by Rev. V.A. Bracher, who later also officiated her wedding to Rudie Kneese on 23 October 1946. They made their first home (built by Rudie and Irene's Father) in Fredericksburg until they relocated to Austin, TX in 1949.

She attended Business College to further her education. She loved to work with numbers and worked for Skalenda Accounting from 1961 until 1998. In October of 1956, they moved to Lovington, NM.

Irene was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church serving as a Sunday School Teacher, belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Church Council, and Church Treasurer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rudie E. Kneese in 1978, a grandson, Maverick Cole Kneese in 2006, her parents, her parents-in-law, Rufus and Ella Kneese, and the following Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Ruby and Gus Friedrich, Rosalee and Kenneth Neans, Wilbert Kneese, Elgin and Hertha Kneese, Simon and Milda Honig and Roy Ottmers.

Surviving are her sons and spouses: Larry and Barbara Kneese of Yukon, OK, Don Kneese of Greer, S.C., Michael and Chandonette Kneese of Lovington, NM, and Grand Children Jennifer and Phillip Bradley of Greer, S.C., Jessica and Travis Lyons of Taylors, S.C., Jason Kneese of Greenville, S.C., Chelsey Kneese of Lovington, NM and Ethan Kneese of Lovington, NM, also by six Great Grandchildren: Aveyana, Auriel, Anthony, Rallend, Riley, and Reece, and Sisters-in-law, Norma Kneese and Lucille Ottmers and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services were conducted at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lovington, NM on July 6th at 10:00 am. Burial was on 8 July 2010 in Fredericksburg, TX at Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery at 9:00 am.

There was a visitation on 7 July 2010 at the Fredericksburg Funeral Home from 1 to 5 pm. Local arrangements were under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
