William Robert Roach was the Son of William Harrison Roach and Georgella Noe. William married Maude Williams in 1925 in Beattyville. They had eleven children: Ronald Earl, Herman Willis, Carl Edward, Vivian, Orville Eugene, Alma, Hershel F., Betty and Robert Lee, Elaine, Kenneth, Betty L.


William Robert Roach was injured during a mine cave in just outside of Beattyville, Ky. Robert worked for the South Fork Coal Company in Belleville, Ky. After the accident, Robert worked for the Cincinnati Tool Company as a Drill Machine Operator in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Beattyville, May 19 - William Robert Roach, 63, of Cincinnati, died at 1 a.m. Saturday at the General Hospital in Cincinnati after a long illness. He was a native of Lee County.


Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maudie Roach; six sons, Earl Roach, Covington; Ed, Eugene, Hershel, Kenneth and Robert Roach, all of Cincinnati; four daughters, Mrs. Vivian Smith and Mrs. Elaine Green, both of Cincinnati; Mrs. Alma Dunaway and Mrs. Betty Dunaway, both of Ludlow; four brothers, Chester and Harrison Roach, both of Hamilton, Ohio; Everett Roach, Middletown, Ohio; and Jesse Roach, Tampa, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. Mary W. Blount, Hamilton, Ohio; Mrs. Grace Longsworth, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Maude Mays, Mrs. Demia Cockerham and Mrs. Martha Cole, all of Beattyville, and 31 grandchildren.


Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Newnam Funeral Home by the Rev. George Randolph. Burial will be in Roach Cemetery here. The body is at the funeral home.
