She was born on September 22, 1931 in Stark City, MO to George and Bertha Woodrum Loftis. On July 15, 1946 she married Glen M. Benda in Hiawatha, KS and he passed away on April 26, 1994. Anna retired from Sheaffer Pen Co in 1993 after nineteen years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, making plastic canvas calendars and embroidering especially, tea towels.
Survivors include three sons, Mike (Kathy) Benda, Steve (Chris) Benda and Dave (Linda) Benda all of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Laura (Martin) Hubbard of Jesup, IA and Kelly Day of Anamosa, IA; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Anna Gentry, and a son and a daughter in infancy.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Pastor Houston Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Combs Cemetery, Luray, Missouri.
