CONCORD - Mr. Donald Smith "Don" Overcash, 81, of 2708 Country Home Road Concord passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. Born on Aug. 30, 1928 in Cabarrus County to the late Edgar Jennings Overcash and the late Laura Hunter Overcash.
Also preceded in death by his wife, Flonnie Lucille Whitley Overcash in June of 2005, brothers, EJ and Hunter Overcash, and sister, Kate Overcash.
Mr. Overcash was a retired lieutenant with the Concord Police Department, a member of Center United Methodist Church, and a 50 year member as a Mason with the Stokes Lodge.
A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Center United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Don Newman and Rev. Brad Cunningham officiating .
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Overcash is survived by sons, Dale M. Overcash and wife, Mary Margaret, of Cornelius, Michael D. Overcash of Concord; three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church Building Fund 1119 Union Street South Concord, NC 28025.
