Ingersoll Barfels, 83, of Grundy Center, died Wednesday, June 23, at Grundy Care Center.She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Dysart, Tama County, daughter of Addison and Beryl Hollenbeck. She married LaVerne Ingersoll on Sept. 28, 1947. He died Feb. 2, 1991. She married Charles D. Barfels Sr. on Nov. 17, 1991. He preceded her in death.Mrs. Barfels graduated from Dysart High School in 1945Survived by: two sons, Larry (Terri) and Gary (Lori) Ingersoll; five stepsons, Steven (Vicki), Curtis (Tammy), Don (Diane), Charles Jr. (Diane) and Troy (Terri) Barfels; a stepdaughter, Sharon (Wayne) Ciewski; seven grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.Preceded in death by: two sisters, Blanche Whitlach and LaVone Bednar; and a grandson.Services: noon Saturday at First Baptist Church, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, both in Grundy Center. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center.
