Bernie H. Humphrey, 93, died this morning at 6:30 a.m. in the Hospitality Nursing Center.
Mr. Humphrey had lived at 6 Meadow Court for over 20 years, and prior to that he lived on a farm one mile east of town, where he farmed. He was also a retired postal worker.
Mr. Humphrey was born March 19, 1888, in Fugit Township, the son of George and Mary Jane Jarrard Humphrey. He was a member of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church, the American Legion and the Retired Postal Workers Association. He served in World War I.
He was married to Mary Linville Aug. 14, 1920, and she survives, with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Robert Humphrey; three brothers: Jesse, Omer and John Humphrey, and two sisters: Grace Fletcher and Ella Greer.
The services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with burial in the Clarksburg Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday.
