Elinor Louise Saville, 75, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at her home.

She was born August 27, 1930 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Arthur Harold Saville, Sr. and Margaret Eckert Saville.

She attended Topeka public schools and was a 1948 graduate of Topeka High School. Elinor received her B.A. from Washburn University and her M. A. from the University of Colorado/Boulder.

She was a secondary teacher and counselor in Manitou Springs and Littleton, CO. She had also been employed at Merchant's National Bank, Topeka, and the Bank of Manitou Springs. She worked in Washburn University Administration from 1970 – 1990 as Associate Dean of Students and Registrar. She retired in 1990 Eminentes Universitatis.

She was a life member of Washburn University Alumni Association, Delta Gamma Sorority, First United Methodist Church, Soroptimist International of Topeka, and Chapter DF of the PEO Sisterhood. She was a member and past President of Nonoso Honorary Society Washburn University and Shawnee County Historical Society.

She served as a Republican Precinct Committee Woman. She was also a member of the University of Colorado Alumni Association, Topeka High School Historical Society and Shawnee County Republican Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Arthur Harold Saville, Jr. and a sister Mary Jean Saville Clouse. Survivors include nieces, Mary Kathleen Clouse and Caroline Saville Cowger, nephews, Harland A. Clouse, Jr., Kenneth A. Clouse, Arthur H. Saville, III, and Thomas Cole Saville, one great nephew, Michael A. Clouse and five great nieces, Kimberly J. Clouse, Rachel(SP), Kate and Jane Cowger, and Stacey Hanson.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Mt. Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Helping Hands Humane Society, Delta Gamma Education Foundation, or to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
