Jane Elinor Charameda, 92, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Battle Creek, Mich. She was a resident of Battle Creek.

She is survived by three daughters, M. Annette (Tom) Ashley of Ankeny, Iowa, Toni Moldenhauer of Wellington, Fla., and Susanne (Rex) Porter of Franklin; a son, Robert "Bob" (Sandy) Charameda of Payton, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roberta Avery of San Marcos, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Charameda; her parents, Leroy and Lucile Yager; and a grandson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 229 Collier Ave. in Battle Creek. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek.

Jane Elinor Charameda, 92, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.

She was born November 25, 1917, the daughter of Leroy E. and Lucile (Weed) Yager in Battle Creek.

Jane worked for Sullivan Dairy until it closed in 1970 and after that for Paul's Market.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Charmeda in 1977 and grandson, Mark Moldenhauer. She is survived by her daughters, M. Annette (Tom) Ashley of Akeny, Iowa, Toni Moldenhauer of Wellington, Florida, Susanne (Rex) Porter of Franklin, Indiana; son, Robert "Bob" (Sandy) Charameda of Payton, Arizona; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister, Roberta Avery of San Marcos, California and several nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed summers at the lake, knitting crocheting, picking mushrooms and all sporting events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Shaw Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Tran officiating. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery.
