Evelyn June McDowell,75,Boscobel, died Wednesday Sept 19,2007 at home. She was born June 30,1932, the daughter of Paul and Agnes Walton in Scott township, Crawford county. She was united in marriage June 14,1952 to Arthur McDowell at the Boscobel United Methodist Church. She graduated from Boscobel High School and from college in Platteville. June taught first through eighth grades in Crawford county for several years. She worked at Manhatten Supper club for several years and JC Penny's in Boscobel, as a catalog supervisor for 19-1/2 years until the store closed. She went back to school in Fennimore for accounting and worked in various places including: Thermogas, The Boscobel Dial, and Boscobel Area Health Care until her retirement.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Boscobel. She had a love of family, friends, life and will be remembered as someone who was always kind and smiling. She was a very devoted wife and mother and she enjoyed her canasta ladies.
She is survived by her husband Art; sons Greg(Laurie) Marshall, Mn.,Jim(Cheri)Neenah; daughters Cindy at home, Lori(Don) Krug Mazomanie; six grandchildren Sara and Jesse McDowell, Marshal, Mn; Macey McDowell Neenah; Deanna and Ben Krug both of Madison, and Nicole(James) Praisewater San Jose Ca; a brother John(Cheri) Walton Marshfield; a sister Sharon(Harlen) Briggs Bettendorf Ia; two special sisters in law Maxine Boughton and Marcella (Bob) Gardner, both of Boscobel; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, a brother Harold, and a niece Tracy Briggs. A memorial service was held Saturday Sept 21 at United Methodist church. Pastor Josh Pegram officiated. Memorials may be given to the Boscobel rescue squad or the Methodist church. The Kendall Funeral service assisted the family.
