Earl D. Bowman, SGT, First Class U.S. Army Retired of Farragut, TN, passed away at home surrounded by family on June 22, 2010. He was born January 18, 1941 in Decatur, TN. Earl was one of a set of triplets. He served two tours each in France, Vietnam, Germany and Korea. Earl retired after 21 years in the U.S. Army. He worked for TVA for 22 years, retiring in 2003.
He was preceded in death by parents, Enloe and Narcie Bowman; sister, Bobbie Embry; infant brother, Marvin and step mother, Mattie Bowman.
Earl is survived by daughters, Kimberly and husband Ben Macht, and Betty Wilson; grandchildren Ryan Harris, Jacob Macht, Holly Bates and former wife, Regine Bowman. He leaves behind his triplets siblings, Burl and wife, Clara Bowman, Jurl and husband, Carl Lovelace, all of Knoxville, TN.; brothers, Clyde and wife, Jerri Bowman of Ocala, FL, Barney Taylor and wife Sherry, Allen and wife, Janice Bowman, Tony and wife, Debbie Bowman, all of Decatur, TN, Alvin and wife, Dana Bowman of Riceville, TN; sisters, Patti Jo and husband, Junior Waller, Mary and husband, Charlie Farmer, Linda and husband, Johnny Lamb and Peggy Bowman all of Decatur, TN: and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 26th at Clicks Funeral Home in Farragut, TN, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM, with services to follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Mark Allison officiating.
Interment will follow at Grigsby Chapel UMC Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the U. S. Army. It was known by everyone who knew Earl, that he was a loving father and grandfather, was kind and generous, and had a huge heart. He will be greatly missed and in our hearts and prayers forever.
