John Ynocencio Puente was born August 26, 1914, in Zacatecas, Mexico, son of Miguel and Maria (Esconevo) Puente. John married Frances Saldivar in November 25, 1935, in Bettendorf. She preceded him in death on August 25, 1997.
John and his wife, Frances, were the founders and owners of Ganzo's restaurants. He was concurrently employed at Sivyer Steel and Ordnance Steel, known as "the best damn crane operator." John was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Adventure Christian Community. Memorials can be made to the family.
Survivors include his son, Michael (Mary Ann) Puente, of Davenport; daughters, Rose Marie (Diego) Vasquez, Davenport, Bebe De LaCruz, Davenport, Joanne Weaver, Davenport, and Cecelia Nosa, Iowa City; 19 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Frances, John was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Elizabeth Schutters, three sisters, one brother, a great-great-grandson, Blake Torres, and a son-in-law, Manuel De LaCruz. May they rest in peace. VAYA CON DIOS
