Mrs. Frances Abigail Yoes Gilstrap, 89, died early this morning at 12:50 o'clock in City Hospital. She had been ill for several weeks.

Mrs. Gilstrap was born near Greenland, November 20, 1862, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Yoes. She was the wife of the late Jesse Gilstrap, pioneer merchant and stockman of Northwest Arkansas. She had lived in this area all her life and for the past 12 years had made her home with her son, James F. Gilstrap, in Fayetteville. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Casteel, of St. Paul, Ark.; two sons, James F. Gilstrap of Fayetteville and William O. Gilstrap of Coffeyville, Kan.; one foster daughter, Mrs. Bessie Stutheit of Fayetteville; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Three sons and two daughters preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the family lot in Brashears cemetery at St. Paul.
