GEORGE J. MACKEL, 87, of New Port Richey died Friday at Florida Hospital in Apopka. A native of Harvey, Ill., he was a retired employee of the machine shop of Southern & Western Tool And Die in Harvey and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mt. Dora. He is survived by his wife, Dolly of Tangerine; a son, George of Collegedale, Texas; a daughter, Shirley Conwell of Bridgeview, Ill.; three stepsons, Charles Batchelor of Newport, N.C., Richard Batchelor of Madison, Tenn.; and Jimmy Batchelor of Japan; two stepdaughters, Pat Bullock of Tangerine and Barbara Engen of Hermitage, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a niece.
