Hampshire Review April 1888

Jacob McDonald died of pneumonia April 16, 1888, after an illness of 7 days. He was 44 years 10 months and 17 days. He leaves a wife and 7 children, 3 by his first wife and 4 by his last wife. He was a good citizen, a kind husband and father, a good neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed by the people of the community in which he lived. He has been a consistent member of the Evangelical Association for about 10 years and during his illness expressed a desire to go to a better world where he should be free from all pain and sorrows were not a few, for he had been in bad health for many years. Mr McDonald spent early years of his life then returned to the hills of Old Hampshire for his health about 14 years ago where he married Mr A.H. Pownalls 2nd daughter and remained until his death.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in their home,
Which never can be filled,
One who knows him.
