Katherine Elizabeth Holstein Repp Ochs, raised in Schontal, Russia, arrived in the US 1902, with her second husband Peter Ochs, daughter by her first husband, Maria Elizabeth Repp, and two daughters, Pauline and Katerine Elizabeth Ochs. The family lived in Bazine, Ness County, Kansas. Katherine and Peter moved to Otero County to be near their daughter Katherine Riefscheider and family.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Catherine Oschs. Funeral services were held in Emanuel Congregational church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. George Schissler officiating, over all that was mortal of Mrs. Catherine Oschs, who passed away on Thursday night, March 23. Mrs. Catherine Oschs was born in Russia on September 19, 1857. She was married in 1879 to John Repp. To this union five children were born, three of whom preceded the mother in death. Her husband died in 1891. Two years later she was united in marriage with John Oschs. To this union two children were born. The Oschs family lived in Kansas before coming to Rocky Ford in 1926, to make their home. Three years later Mr. Oschs died. Mrs. Oschs was the oldest members of Emanuel Congregational church and was a very faithful one. The 19th of March, as she was on her way to prayer meeting she fell on the sidewalk and splintered her leg near the hip. Due to her age she was unable to overcome the shock, and the following Thursday night she passed from this world into the life beyond. The Deceased is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Oschs, Bremerton, Washington; Mrs. Catherine Reifschneider, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Pauline Lohrey, Sacramento, California; one son, John Repp, St. John, Washington; one brother in Kansas, and two sisters in Wisconsin and Minnesota; 34 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
