Sarah Jane Bailey McCoy was a true pioneer - a hard working and much loved woman.

Sarah Jane was orphaned at age 6 after Indians killed her father in 1862 and her mother died of mountain fever in 1863. She had 5 sisters and 1 brother.

She married George Washington McCoy in Shasta Co. California June 4, 1871.

She came to Ketchum with his husband and 4 children in November 1880 and lived there for the rest of her life.

She and George had 10 children:
