Brenda Jo Myers Meadows, 64, of Narrows, Va., passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. She was born in Pearisburg on December 23, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Elmer Ernest Myers and Joanna Barbara Habernigg Myers. Brenda was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings, and especially enjoyed Visiting Teaching with her close friend, Carrie Greene. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time at the pool with her family. She also took great pleasure working in her flower gardens and watching her birdhouses, especially the hummingbirds. Survivors include her loving husband of 22 years, Ronald Meadows, of Narrows; two daughters, Veronica Stump and husband, Rusty, of Pearisburg, Ellen Hawks and husband, Tony, of Ballard, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Kcee Riechert and husband, David, of Boliver, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Nicole and Beth Stump, Alex and Sydney Hawks, Clayton and Maya Reneé Riechert; a sister, Ella Mae Vaught and husband, Paul (P.C.), of Newport; a brother, Ernest L. (Jimmy) Myers and wife, Bonnie, of Vienna, Va.; a special aunt, Georgia Williams, of Maybrook; three cousins who were like brother and sisters, Ann Williams and Ronnie Williams, both of Pembroke, and Ellene Johnson, of Radford; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, New River Ward in Pembroke. Burial will follow in the Boyd's Chapel Cemetery on Brickyard Road in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 6 to 9 p.m. Flowers are greatly appreciated or memorial contributions can be made to Giles County Animal Rescue.
