Members of Ninth Infantry Regiment and Band Conducted Funeral of Henry M Crull Yesterday

The funeral of Henry M. Crull proprietor of the Richelieu Bar and for over twenty-eight years a member of the United States Army, took place yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Masonic temple, the deceased being buried with full military honors and the funeral procession being one of the most impressive of the city.

One of the last request of Mr. Crull was that the soldier boys, of whom he was one of their members for more than half his life, consign him mortal remains to their last resting place. He was also a Mason of high degree and they attended the funeral in a body, but acquiescing to the last wishes of their departed brother, gave the military entire charge of the obsequies. Funeral services were conducted at the Masonic Hall by Rev. Charles W. Cook in the absence of Chaplain Wood, and then the funeral procession moved from the hall to the military cemetery at Fort McIntosh, the Ninth Infantry Band, playing a dirge, heading the procession, then camethe firing squad of fifteen members of the Ninth Infantry, the soldier pall bearers walking on each side of the caisson bearing the casket draped with an American flag, and then came Rev. Cook and two officers of the Ninth Infantry and a number of members of that organization afoot, and last the automobiles bearing the members of the family of the deceased and attendants, including a number of the Masons. The procession moved with a slow step that added to the solemnity

Arriving at the grave the funeral services were concluded by Rev. Cook and the remains of the departed soldier were consigned to their last resting place as taps were fired and the last farewell was given to him who was loyal to his country in life and was honored by comrades in death
Note: Fort McIntosh was closed following WWII and all burials were transferred to Fort Sam.
