She attended country grade school south of Curtis and graduated from UNSA in 1952. Maxine worked at both North Platte Memorial and Lincoln General Hospitals, in the housekeeping department.
In 1987, she moved to Curtis and maintained her own home until 2008, when she moved to Senior Living Choices in Curtis. Because of failing health, she was moved to Hillcrest Rest Home in McCook in December of 2009. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Curtis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Elsie Hecht Jorgensen.
She is survived by her sister, Helen and husband, Steve Reed of Conyers, Goergia; two brothers, Allen and wife, Jean Jorgensen of Venango, and Gary and wife, Martha Jo Jorgensen of Curtis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
