Mrs. Elizabeth J. Ailes, 54, Letts, died this morning at 2 a.m. at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital, having been in failing health the past nine months.

Mrs. Ailes was born April 18, 1927, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Glen and Coza Sherwood Crawley. Her mother survives. The family moved to Franklin County when she was young and she moved to Letts in 1967, where she had resided since. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Greensburg. She was married to Ross D. Ailes Sept. 21, 1947, and he survives.

In addition to her mother and her husband, survivors include six children: Larry Eugene Ailes, Letts, Miss Carolyn Ailes, at home, Darrell W. Ailes, Letts, Mrs. Virginia Meadows, Westport, Paul D. Ailes, Letts and Mrs. Robert (Debra) Hughes, Andersonville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Fred (Clara) Fisher, R.R.9, Greensburg and Mrs. Helen Foryman, Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, Donald Crawley, R.R.9, Greensburg.

The services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bass Funeral Home in Westport with the Rev. Paul Secrest officiating and with burial in the Clarksburg Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday.
