OBITUARY :
MRS. PHYLLIS E. (PRINDLE) ADAMS, 69, of 734 Fir Spring Drive, Waynesboro, died at 6:05 P.M., Monday, June 21, 2010, in her home. She had been in failing health since February.

Born April 14, 1941 in East Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Isabell (Charbeaneau) Prindle. She lived her early life in the East Hartford area.

She and her husband of over 48 years, Robert L. Adams, were married on August 5, 1961 in Middletown, CT. They have lived in the Cascade, MD and Waynesboro areas for the past 30 years.

Mrs. Adams was a dental assistant at Fort Ritchie, MD and Fort Detrick, MD retiring on January 31, 2004.

She was a member of the Ruby Red Homemaker Hatters Chapter of the Red Hat Society, Delta Y Gradale Sorority, and she volunteered at the Waynesboro Hospital Gift Shop.

Mrs. Adams enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and sewing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Cheri Roadcap of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Megan Roadcap and Christopher Roadcap; and one sister, Carole Ancona of Annapolis, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Adams, who died on August 5, 1983.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Mark A. Hosler, officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD.

There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: John Marsh Cancer Center, 11110 Medical Campus Rd., Suite 129, Hagerstown, MD, 21742.
