TRINITY - Mrs. Elizabeth Evans 'Lib' Hoover, 83, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Graybrier Nursing Home, after declining health of three years and being seriously ill for four days. She was born Feb. 13, 1917, in High Point, a daughter of Wiley Harris and Lula Bennett Evans. She was a graduate and valedictorian of Allen Jay High School in 1934. She was a homemaker the majority of her life. She was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church and a member of the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class. On July 27, 1936, she married Harold McGee Hoover, who prececed her in death June 7, 1982. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Wiley Harris Evans, Jr. Surviving are three sons, Harold M. Hoover and his wife, Peggy, of Walkertown, L. Joseph 'Joe' Hoover and his wife, Sharon, of High Point and Ronald A. 'Ron' Hoover and his wife, Barbara, of Archdale; four grandchildren, Sharon Jones of Archdale, Billy Hoover of Walkertown, Doug Hoover of Lexington and Misty Hoover of Charlotte; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret Harris of Richmond, Va., Marie Dorsett of Amelia, Va., Annie Hall of City of Industry, Calif., and Fannie Bryant of Draper, Utah; and a brother, Joe Evans of Richmond, Va. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairfield United Methodist Church by the Rev. Neil Brower. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Joe Hoover. Memorials may be directed to Fairfield United Methodist Church, 1505 NC 62 West, High Point, N.C. 27263 or to the Alzheimers Association, 237 Idol St., High Point, N.C. 27262.
