Derek P. Chambers, 20, of Whitman died suddenly on June 23, 2010. He was born in Boston, a son of Patricia (DAvella) Chambers of Whitman and Anthony Chambers of Rockland. He was raised and educated in Rockland and was a graduate of South Shore Vocational Technical High School in Hanover in the electrical department. He had been employed for the past two and a half years as a service technician with Advantage Hood Cleaning Co. in Hanover. Derek enjoyed playing the drums, fishing and he was an avid fan of the Celtics, Bruins and Patriots. In addition to his mom and dad, he is survived by a sister and a brother, Sarah A. Maul and Christopher A. Chambers, both of Whitman and his grandmother Mary (Colantonio) Chambers of Rockland. Also surviving are an aunt and uncle and several cousins. The Chambers family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Derek's life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street, Rockland, on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
