Jack G. Dunn November 26, 2004 Jack G. Dunn, age 87, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Friday, November 26, 2004. Mr. Dean was born February 18, 1917, at Marked Tree, Arkansas. He was the son of the late J. G. Dunn and Margaret Marion Holiday Dunn Edwards. Mr. Dunn finished school in Lepanto, Arkansas, received an A.A. degree from Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tennessee, B.A. degree from Cleveland State Teachers College in Cleveland, Mississippi, and did graduate work at the University of Kentucky at Lexington. Preceded in death by his brother, Scott Thomas, he is survived by his wife of sixty years, Nancy McSwine Dunn of Lewisburg, his daughter, Pam Gissendanner of Vienna, Virginia, and grandchildren, Deana and Griffen Gissendanner. He entered the ministry in January of 1935 serving as a Church of Christ minister at Charleston, Mississippi, Pecos, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, Shelbyville, Tennessee, and many Marshall County churches. He was, also, a teacher, radio announcer, and station owner, salesman, and businessman. He retired from full-time ministry in 1959 and established Church and Institutional Supply Company (CISCO) in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Two of his most-honored projects were the interior restorations of the Dayton Tennessee Courthouse and the Grand Ole' Opry House in Nashville. He was a member of the Lions and Rotary clubs, originating the first Lions charitable rodeo in Pecos, Texas, and receiving the coveted Paul Hams Award and honored with the 2003 Citizen of the Year award from his fellow Rotarians. He was a lover of music and literature. In college he established the Literary Guild at Delta State and all his life was passionate about reading and learning. As a young man he played guitar and sang with a band and always remained involved with music and making music. His joy in the last year had been in attending a local band's weekly rehearsals. Services were conducted on Sunday, November 28, at 4 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with Neal Anderson. Anne Claire "Nancy" Dunn, age 90 of Lewisburg died Tuesday, January 08, 2013 at NHC Oakwood.

Mrs. Dunn was a native of Scobey, Mississippi, and she was the daughter of the late Griffith Lacy and Winnie Wallace McSwine. She attended Scobey Elementary, Oakland High School, and Blue Mountain College. She taught school at Enid, Mississippi, where she met and married Jack G. Dunn to whom she was married for 65+ years. She lived in Greenwood, Mississippi, Pecos, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, Shelbyville and Lewisburg, Tennessee. She was known for her beauty, charm, ironic sense of humor, and indomitable will. She had leadership roles in the Woman's Club, Study Club, Girl Scouts, and PTA. She was best known as a successful decorator and businesswoman, as co-owner and chief operator of (CISCO) Church and Institutional Supply Company in Lewisburg. Her motto was "Do Something and Be Somebody." She certainly did and was. She is survived by her only child, Pam Gissendanner of Vienna, Virginia, two grandchildren, Deana Claire Gissendanner of Arlington, Virginia, and Griffin Dunn Gissendanner of Los Angeles, California, sister Patty Hendricks of Boyle, Mississippi, and Mrs. Hendricks three children, Mike, Matt, and Nancy Wynn Copper. The family will be at London Funeral Home for visitation on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. London Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
