Michael David McDonald of Yukon, OK went to be with his Lord on December 22 following a year long battle with cancer. Mike was born to Hoyt and Norma Lee McDonald on October 10, 1949 in Wichita Kansas. His childhood was spent in Kansas before coming to Oklahoma Christian College where he met his wife Kathy (Tippens). Mike had a great sense of humor and easy going personality that everyone was attracted to. He was always available to help friends, family and his church home. Mike was a very strong Christian man who loved mission work. He was active as a deacon in his church at South Yukon Church of Christ. Mike is survived by the love of his life, Kathy and their three children, Stephanie Ward, of Oklahoma City, Mandy Flaming and her husband Michael of Austin, TX, and Alex McDonald and his wife Jami of Shawnee, KS. Mike is survived by two grandchildren, Olivia Rose Flaming and Alex Michael McDonald, Jr. Mike is now sitting in heaven with his first granddaughter, Emma Kathleen, who passed away in 2001. Mike is survived by two brothers, Steve McDonald of Moore, OK, and Brad McDonald of Tulsa, OK and two sisters Mary Boydstun of Seminole, OK and Nancy McDonald of Kansas City, KS. Mike is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends. Our lives will be much less colorful without him. We will miss his smiles, his jokes, his wise counsel and unending love for so many. Even until his last breath, he influenced and affected us all.
