Mrs. Annie Chavis, 85, of Neeses, widow of Augustus Chavis, died at a hospital in Columbia Tuesday night. She was born in Orangeburg County, daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Chavis. She was a member of the Church of God. Funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunny Vista Church of God at North with the Rev. R. B. Lilly and the Rev. E. R. Hamonds officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Warren (Ellen) Fields, Mrs. Henry (Eunice) Davis and Mrs. Emanuel (Miriam) Bozard, all of Orangeburg; 21 grandchildren; 42 greatgrandchildren; and eight greatgreatgrandchildren. Friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Acey Spires on the Neeses Highway and at the Thompson Funeral Home.
