Mrs. Williamson Services Pending

Funeral services are pending at the Seydler-Hill chapel for Mrs. Alice Williamson, 101, who died at the Ridgecrest Nursing home this morning at 9:45.
On her 100th birthday anniversary, she was honored with a reception held at Ridgecrest at which time family and friends came to honor her.

Rites Today For Oldest Citizen

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. from the Seydler-Hill chapel for Mrs. Alice Carey Williamson, 101, oldest Gonzales county citizen, who died at the Ridgecrest Nursing Home at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The Rev. Wayne Gehman, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, and the Rev. Claude F. O'Neall will officiate at the last rites to be followed by burial in the Pilgrim cemetery.
Mrs. Williamson, the daughter of an. P. and Mariah Adeline Knapp Jenkins, was born on October 24, 1871, in Kansas.
She moved to Texas at the age of four years, coming here with the zjenkins family in a covered wagon and settling in the Floyd's Chapel community.
A few years later her parents purchased land and built a home some three miles from Pilgrim where they reared a family of seven children.
She married Giles Blake Williamson who was a native of Alabama and moved to Texas at the age of seven years. She was a member of the
Pilgrim Presbyterian church, joining in early childhood. Her husband preceded her in death on, December 25, 1936. After his death she made her home in the Mathis area, moving back to Gonzales county after a hurricane damaged her home.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J. C. (Tharessa) Freeman of Gonzales; Mrs. J. S. (Dual) Dancer of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, Phil Williamson of Mathis; Howell Williamson of Santa Monica, Calif.; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. R. M. Billings of San Antonio; Mrs. R. J. Dehnish of Mathis; and 17 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Giles Blake Williamson, who died in 1920 at the age of 18 years; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Mills and Mrs. Ida urnett, and two brothers, George and Frank Jenkins.
