Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 4, at 10 a.m. from the Seydler-Hill Funeral Chapel for Howard Dean Whitehead, who died at his home in Gonzales at 7:37 p.m. April 1. The Rev. Stephen Clark assisted by Dennis Droupy will officiate at the rites with burial in the Pilgrim cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
Mr. Whitehead was born in Brady on May 11, 1937, the son of William Jackson and Lydia Louise Crawford Whitehead. He was a grain broker and a member of the Baptist church, the Gonzales Elks Lodge, Texas Grain and Feed Association, and the United Game Breaders Association. He attended Texas A&M University.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
