Ronald M. Sallee, 72, Erie, Kansas, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.

He was born March 29, 1938 in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Max and Augusta B. (Ernie) Sallee.

In his early years he lived in Humboldt and Chanute. Since 2003 he had lived in Erie.

Throughout his adult life he worked as a truck driver and in the oil fields.

He loved doing restoration work on old items and to attend auctions. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and care for his many animals. He loved his family and wasn't afraid to "tell it like it was." In his "downtime" he enjoyed a good western movie.

Survivors include three sons, Rick Sallee, of Chanute, KS, Robbie Sallee and wife, Janet, of Chanute, KS, Buddie Sallee, of Humboldt, KS; two daughters, Starla Dobbs and husband, Lucas, of El Dorado Springs, MO; Rhonda Bland and husband, Lyle, of El Dorado Springs, MO; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie, Kansas. Burial will be at the Restlawn Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. They may be left at the funeral home or sent to the funeral home at Box 182, Erie, KS 66733.
