Samuel George Panson , husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, slid in home on October 21, 1995 on his 85th birthday.

Sam was born October 21, 1910 in Salt Lake City to George and Katherine Desmond Panson . He was the oldest of four children. He attended Blaine School and Granite High School. He married Ruth E. Olsen on February 7, 1929. He worked for American Smelting and Refining, and later Kennecott Copper Corp. as a pipefitter. He retired in 1974 after 40 years of service.

Survived by a grandson, Steve (Martee) Panson , three great-grandchildren, Mike, Jonathan, Jill, all of Murray; two sisters, Marie Clark, Murray; Pat Spooner, Bellview, Wash.; a brother, Scott Krumm, of Sacramento, California. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, his son, Ellis.

Sam was rough and crusty on the outside, gentle, generous and kind on the inside. You knew right away if you were a friend of his or not.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, 12 noon at Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 East. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. A special thanks to those nurses at St. Mark's Hospital, to the people at Woodland Park Care Center, and also the Creekside Home Health.
