David Turney, who died at Canemah, October 25, 1904, was born in Virginia, October 81, 1830.
He married Miss Rebecca Bare in Masontown, Pennsylvania in 1856. Shortly after his marriage they moved to Beverley, Virginia. From there they moved to the state of Illinois where they lived for six years. From Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Turney moved to Iowa and farmed for another six years. The family moved from Iowa to Elkhorn, Nebraska, in the year 1882, and after residing there for eight years came to Oregon City, Oregon.
Mr. Turney left to mourn his loss a widow and nine children: Mrs. Rebecca Turney, Canemah, Oregon, Lewis Turney, Walla Walla, Washington; Dave Turney, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Rachael Hill, Walla Walla, Washington; J. H. Turney,
