T. A. Capps, a prominent farmer of this vicinity, died Wednesday [sic] morning of last week at his home six miles northeast of El Dorado Springs following a long illness. Mr. Capps was born in North Missouri on August 23, 1868, and was 64 years old. When a small boy he moved with his parents to near Roscoe, Mo., where he grew to manhood and where he was united in marriage on October 16, 1899, to Miss Addie Hoshaw.
To this union were born three children, all of whom survive. The surviving relatives are his wife, one son, Royston Capps, of the home address, two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Burch of El Dorado Springs, Mrs. Rena Hunt of Springfield, three grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Cassie Kelley, of Lornee, Ill.
Mr. Capps located on the farm, where he died, over thirty-eight years ago, and had resided there continuously since that time. He was an influential and progressive citizen and enjoyed the confidence and respect of all who knew him. He had a host of friends who join in extending their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ben Zener, were held at the Tiffin Baptist Church, where deceased had long been a member, last Sunday afternoon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the El Dorado Springs cemetery.
