Winnie Evelyn Johnson, 96, died Thursday, Feb. 18.

Services were Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Wright officiating. Burial was in the Shive Public Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born May 4, 1902, in Hamilton County, the daughter of George H. and Ella Simms Glover. She was married to Marion E. Johnson on Aug. 6, 1924, in the Vista Mountain Community of Hamilton County. She was a homemaker and a member of Littleville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 31, 1982, by her parents, a sister and two brothers.

Survivors include five children, W. Wade Johnson of Castroville, Wanda Wathen of Conroe, Marion W. Johnson of Blue Ridge, Margorie Fowler of Fort Wroth and Patricia Drake of Abilene; a sister, Ruby Freeman of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchil-dren.

Pallbearers were Larry Fowler, Vern Wathen, Raymond Heath, Brian Johnson, David Heath, Sam Heath, Cletus Dorris and Scott Vaughn.
