Marian Lindsey Nein, 95, of Columbus, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at First Community Village. She was born in Willard, Ohio on January 24, 1915 to parents Robert Lee and Nellie (Vanderveer) Lindsey.

Mrs. Nein, a graduate of Willard High School and Miami University, taught in the junior and senior high schools in Middletown, Ohio for eleven years. She was active in the city, district and regional tennis associations and received the Todd Memorial Cup in recognition of her service in the junior tennis programs. Following the death of her husband, Russell, in 1976, Mrs. Nein moved to Upper Arlington where she became a member of the First Community Church and Guild Group N. She served as a docent in the Columbus Museum of Art for ten years, was a member of the Arlington Art Study Group 18 and a member of PEO.

Mrs. Nein is survived by her daughter, Linda N. McGuire; her son, James R. (Rhonda) Nein; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth A. McGuire, John R. (Amy) McGuire, James L. McGuire, Jacquelyn M. Nein-Daniels, Brandy A. Young, Jodi Lynn (Michael) Robertson and Jeffrey J. Nein; three great grandchildren, Jessa M. Daniels, Lincoln M. & Charlotte J. Robertson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Vera (Leo) Kelley and Dorothy (William) Jump; brothers & sisters-in-law, William & Velma Lamb, Floyd & Jean Nein and nephews, Robert & John Kelley

A memorial service will be held Monday June 14, 2010 at 9:00 AM at First Community Church, Burkhart Chapel, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus, Ohio with Reverend James M. Long officiating.
There will be a visitation from 1 – 2 pm Monday at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, Ohio. Graveside burial service with Reverend Herman Emmert officiating will be held at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, immediately following visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Community Church Foundation, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43212.
