Obituary in the Mansfield News Journal of 12 June 2002, page 6-A. Russell S. Beer, age 81; died at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. Son of Simon and Katherina Miller Beer. Husband of Josephine L. Powell Beer. Worked as superintendent at Peabody Galion; also G. L. Rogers; and co-owner of A&B Trucking. Member, Venus Lodge 152 F&AM, Scottish Rite, etc. Amphibious Engineer, US Army, Pacific Theater during World War II. Survived by wife; daughters Katherine (William) Shaw of Lexington and Sally (Joseph) Parr of Bellville; 2 sisters. Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
