Arthur R. Iiams, 74, of Independence, died January 29, 1991 at Independence Regional Health Center.

He was born in Oblong, Illinois, and lived in this area most of his life.

Mr. Iiams was a repairman at the General Motors Leeds assembly plant before he retired. He was a member of Local 93 of the United Auto Workers and its retirees club. He was a Baptist, a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy H. Iiams of the home; a daughter, Dorothy Murphy, Harrisonville; a sister, Clara L. Davis, Schoolcraft, Michigan; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. today at the Park Lawn Chapel.
